Mission Statement
The mission of Two Rivers Head Start Agency is to
alleviate the effects of poverty by providing education, support services and
opportunities for children, families and communities.
To that end, Two Rivers offers the following programs:
Head Start: Free, half-day preschool is available for income-eligible children ages
three to five throughout Kane, Kendall, DeKalb, Grundy, and Boone Counties. Full year/full day
programs in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Human Services
offer working parents a high quality educational experience. Full year/full
day programs are currently available in Carpentersville, Aurora,
Elgin, and Sycamore. Head Start and Early Head Start
are funded by the United States Dept. of Health and Human Services.
Early Head Start: Early
Head Start offers home-based services, weekly play groups, developmental
screenings, and educational stimulation for infants and toddlers ages 0 to
3 in Aurora, Elgin,
and Carpentersville. The goals are to
support parents in their roles as primary caregivers and educators of their
children and to promote the development of infants and toddlers.
Community Services
Block Grant: Emergency
services, including rent, medical and food assistance, and employment
training are available for low-income residents of Kane County.
This program is funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic
