Governing Board

Administering and overseeing Two Rivers Head Start Agency programs!

Governing Board of Directors

The Governing Board of Directors is the legal entity of Two Rivers Head Start Agency. It has the legal and fiscal responsibility of administering and overseeing programs.

The Governing Board is composed of at least 15 members with expertise in education, legal matters, accounting, business, and community outreach. One or more members have a background in each of the following areas: fiscal management/accounting or early childhood education/child development. One of our Governing Board members is a licensed attorney. Additional members reflect the communities being served and can include parents of children who are currently or were formerly enrolled in Head Start Programs.

If you or someone you know might be an ideal candidate to sit on our Governing Board, we would love to speak with you! Please complete the form on the “Quick Links” Page under Volunteer Application, or contact us at: familyservices@trhsa.org, 800-847-9010, or 630-264-1444.

The Policy Council

In addition to the Governing Board of Directors, the agency has established and maintained a formal structure of joint governance through which parents can participate in policy-making or in decisions about the program. This structure is known as Policy Council. The Policy Council is comprised of two types of representatives: parents of currently enrolled children and community representatives.

Being a member of Policy Council allows parents to have a direct influence on the policies and procedures of their child’s Head Start program. Parents gain skills in communication, leadership, and critical thinking while serving on Policy Council.
